More Information
Mortar is very expensive and labor intensive. In addition, it tends to fade, crack prematurely and does not provide proper drainage which causes the water to pond and eventually rots the deck and fascia areas. It is very difficult to gain color consistency with mortar due to the batch mixing of costly oxides.
Rubber is also very expensive and has many downsides as well. It shrinks from the heat within a short period of time which causes gaps between the tile and the rubber where water can seep in and accumulate. This occurrence causes the under-layment to degrade much quicker and eventually rots the deck. The installations of the nailing patterns are so close to the fascia that nails are often exposed. The color also fades and cracks losing its aesthetic purpose.
Metal eave is the choice for most professionals in the roofing industry. It is cost effective and the least laborious to install. It sets the proper height for the first course of installation, ensures proper eave angle and eliminates the staining of walls and pavers. The consistency with color and symmetry is incomparable. Metal can be painted and is available in a variety of colors which doesn’t shrink, fade or crack.
